Those who ride forth may not return. Lives will be lost on the field today. Knowing this, I lead my brothers on with me, and together, we charge to the sound of the trumpets... The nervous creaking of saddles and the ring of drawn steel are drowned out almost immediately – I can hardly hear anything over my own rough breathing. But our horses beat a steady rhythm, a drum of thunder, on the cobblestones of the road. The familiarity of the sound soothes me, and I take a moment to make a prayer under my breath.

"God guide my sword, imbue my armor with Your protection... let me see the sun rise tomorrow. Let us not fall today."

Caption written by my very very talented sister; and if she had an updated version (hurr, I think this was just a drabble. >>;), I don't have it on my computer.

Please no crits, I know I rushed it and it could be done much much MUCH better, but I had to get it in before the deadline. Drawn for `Wen-M's anima contest (based off of his own Holy Paladin [link] ); wow I can't wait to see the winners. @___@ All of the entries I've seen so far have been amaaaazing!! Good luck to all of the participants! I. Have. Been. FLOORED.

This is awesome. The combination of the coloring style and the colors themselves fit in perfectly, I'm really enjoying what I see. Well done :)
