Tempest by kheleksul Tempest by kheleksul
Commission for Raesha from GaiaOnline - I took some BIG liberties with her character (I hope she doesn't mind!)

Anyway, this was a bit of an experimental piece for me; tried out a little bit of photoshop for a change. X3 I kind of like how it came out...

-> Adobe Photoshop CS2, Opencanvas1.1

wow? photoshop? I'm amazed at your skill with that program, for some reason shading in that bugger is really hard, it seems to work well for cell shading and outlines but for some reason when I try to do naturalistic or more fluid things it never comes out quite right
I'm personally in awe at you understanding of anatomy, her should is incredible and you're very good at people's backs, which I think is really cool because it's really hard to reference your own
amazing job, keep up the great work!

Great work on the colours, i love the little yellow in the face and the fading shades in the hair. The face is a bit 'forward' it seems, or the back of the head is a bit too far 'back', maybe it's just me but her chin-back of neck-distance seems a bit large. Her face looks like a mask. But this is just nitbits, it's fantastic.

Haha, no, it's great that you picked up on that. I tend to do that with my side-view pictures... I can recognize it, but I can't seem to stop myself. Ionno, I just seem to think it's sexy or something. Even though it looks terribly odd. XD

Haven't seen you in a long time, Ming! How've you been? :3

Hmf. I don't CARE if you took liberties with it. It's beautiful all the same, I like that blue color a lot. Ish just like watercolor!

I think you conveyed the character perfectly, if the name is any indication--wind and wave, indeed! Nice coloring; was this all in PS and OC, or did you do any line work/coloring by hand?

Mmmmmm, most of it was in PS; I took it into openCanvas once, and that one time, I only used the add layer to ... "dodge" the image, and then I took it back into photoshop. *LOL* Except for the obviously traditional stuff that I've done, the rest of them were all done completely on the computer. Because, heh, I don't have a scanner. XD!!!

very very awsome!! reminds me of those guys in zelda. (but then again a lot of things remind me of zelda nowaday cause i'm playing twilight princess :D)
but this is a photoshop piece? yes, it seems a bit less painty than your opencanvas stuff, but still uber cool ^_^. maybe try the water brushes? :)

zora or something.. O_o
lemme find.... [link] <-- go there XP

and yes! the new wii zelda :D. so funnnn

and on the top bar where all the menus n stuff are (and this is when you've clicked the brush and is painting), at the very end there's a lil icon that looks like a brush drawing something. that turns on the 'water' ^_^
hope that makes sense at all X_X

This looks really nice! I love the style - one tone of colour. Almost looks like watercolour. I also like how you did the creases in the dress, and the free flowing of the hair.

Keep up the great art~

the canvas could have been larger with a bit of space either side. She looks a bit squashed in.

I don't know about that... the point of this piece wasn't the character, persay; more like the compositioning of it than the subject. I find the "squished"-ness of it rather aesthetically pleasing. :) Thanks for the crit, though; I'll keep that in mind, next time. :D
